Built locally for local people

Combining reduced environmental and visual impact with increased energy production, Eolmed capitalizes on high-quality local manufacturing to innovate for the future of energy in Occitanie, Western France.

1. ORIGIN

Initiated by the French government via a call for projects by the Agency for Environmental & Energy (ADEME) in August 2015, Eolmed comprises 3 floating wind turbines that will produce nearly 110 million kWh/year. This pilot wind farm project is driven by the Programme d’Investissements d’Avenir (PIA) and its commitment to “demonstrate the ecological and energy transition”. The project has the dual objective of validating a business model for future commercial development and creating an offshore wind energy subsidiary in Western France.
